Day 8... As luck would have it, we didn't quite make it out of Destin when we planned. Kelly decided to take as on a fun detour to the hospital after she reinjured her knee and we got to eat hospital pasta and wait... For SIX HOURS!!! They stuffed her full of pain pills, wrapped it up and sent her on her way.

And then she got sick and threw it all up. Awesome.

Day 6...

Day 6...We packed and prepared to leave the beach as the weather began
to look very scary. Can you tell how dark gray the sky is in this
photo? The waves started kicking up where it had been calm the past
few days. We chose a good day to leave!

Day 5 (cont'd)...

We went out to eat with Anna Laura's family and ate way too much
chocolate cake.

Day 5...

Day 5...Another day spent on the beach and Chick-fil-a for lunch
(woohoo!). We both tried to get sun but it seems we left as pale as
we arrived. At least neither of us got sunburned...yay! It was a
fantastically beautiful day...

Day 4 (cont'd)...

After the crab boil, there was a fantastic fireworks display on the
beach. We found a great spot on the pier in the marina of the yacht
club to watch the show. It was a great way to end the day!

Day 4 (cont'd)...

We went to a crab boil and I learned how to peel boiled crabs.  Anna Laura was a great trainer and I successfully peeled 2 crabs on my own.  Unfortunately, I had decided this was a good night to put on my rings for the first time in a while.  As I'm wiping my hands, one of my rings slid off and right through the cracks in the pier...straight to the water below.  Boo!  :-(

Day 3...

Day 3...We spent the night at Stacey's and of course took forever
getting on the road again. On our way out of Monroe we stopped at the
mall to run a few errands. The first was the most dreaded activity
known to womankind...swimsuit shopping. Groan. So Anna Laura is trying
on all of these cute bikinis while I'm looking for one that covers up
the most of my pale skin possible. Then something mysterious happened
- I got the urge to try on a bikini myself. I have no clue why. So you
can imagine my surprise when I discovered that I LIKED it!! Yea
ladies and gentleman, I bought a bikini. No pictures will be included
of this purchase. Our next stop was to get a birthday present for Anna
Laura's little sister, Maddy. That's us in Icing trying on hats!!
Then we drove down to Baton Rouge, picked up Kelly (another of Anna
Laura's sisters) and drove to Destin, FL. Lots and lots of driving...

Day 2 (Song of the Day)...

The Day 2 Song of the Day is...

Bubbly by Colbie Caillat

The Day 1 Song of the Day was...

The First Day of My Life by Bright Eyes

Enjoy! =)

Day 2 (cont'd)...

We headed over to a couple other gas stations in search of a shot glass but ended up disappointed. And a tad bit confused. The gas stations carried literally Every state EXCEPT Arkansas. Whyyy? Well, why do 2-for-1 toilets exist? Why do people drive off with gas pumps? Because the world just wouldn't be the same without them! Who knows, maybe Arkansas is a little bit of everything- a melting pot of the US- and this is a genius advertisement... Yea, i doubt that too. So I'm going to go ahead and guess they don't quite understand the concept of a 'souvenir'. Psss here's a hint, Arkansas: Advertise your OWN state (Crazy! I know!). If not, people will be forced to make their own...

ARKANSAS:
HOME to 2-for-1 toilets and DUMBASSES that drive away with gas pumps... 'Rebel Country'

Day 2 (cont'd)...

Next we went on a gas run at the local QuikStop. I ran inside to search for my traditional shot glass, and just as I'm walking in I glance back to shut the door and hear a HUGE 'pop'. The car that was at the pump next to us had started to drive away but came to a screeching halt when they realized- They had taken off with the gas pump still in the car! It ripped right out! I started laughing at the counter and the chatty workers finally glanced outside, "Ohh my- HAROLD! Oh my god! Harold come see this! Oh noooo." The girl from the car walks in laughing and says (insert southern drawl here) "I took y'alls pump. Y'all want that back?!"
... FAIL.

Oh... And the gas station didn't have any Arkansas shotglasses. Missouri? Tennessee? Plenty! Arkansas IN Arkansas? Don't be logical. So we embark on another adventure...

Day 2...

Day 2... We were in Arkansas for a total of maybe 15- 20 miles, but it ended up being the most entertaining portion of the trip. So many events happened! It started when we stopped at a local Wendy's to get some eats and have a bathroom break... As you can see, people in Arkansas apparently pee in pairs. So if you're searching for Two-for-one toilets, Arkansas is the place to be!

Day 1...

Day 1 ... We wanted to leave around noon. Six hours later we were
finally ready to get on the road! That's the cool part about a road
trip - flexibility. :-)
We didn't anticipate eating all of our Dutch crunch chips in the first
day. What a shame because they're no where to be found anywhere but
Minnesota right?! Boo!!
